- Participants will acquire knowledge regarding commonly used complementary techniques used to treat pediatric patients

Participants will acquire knowledge regarding the evidence for efficacy of common complementary therapies used for children.

Participants will acquire knowledge regarding current research techniques used to study complementary therapies in children.

Participants will acquire an understanding of different perspectives on healing.
At the conclusion of this activity:

Participants will understand the indications for and efficacy of complementary interventions in the management of several pediatric conditions commonly seen in general office practice. Examples include behavioral problems, pain management, nutritional supplements, allergies/asthma, and neurodevelopmental disorders.

Participants will understand the current state of research and techniques used to study complementary medicine in pediatrics.

Participants will be able to appropriately refer patients for treatment with complementary modalities when needed.

Participants will understand the potential contributions of other forms of healing to total care of children.
